Application in biblical preaching

Abstract

This work is a study focused on the problems of applying the Bible to modern life in the context of Biblical Preaching.

The thesis begins with a statement of the problem in chapter 1, followed by an argument that application is a theological necessity in chapter 2. Chapter 3 reviews some relevant literature in the field of hermeneutics, specializing in the realm of application. Chapter 4 outlines the approach advocated in this thesis. Chapter 5 reports on the author’s teaching experience at Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary in the fall of 2002.
