ABSTRACT

The intention of this thesis-project was to create a preaching
handbook for missionaries on furlough (home ministry assignment). The same principles used in a preaching handbook for furloughing missionaries are applicable for missionaries during deputation (support team building). Missionaries are afforded tremendous opportunities as they are given the preaching hour in a local church. The purpose of this handbook is to help the missionary be better prepared to take full advantage of his or her preaching opportunities.

Preaching Effectively During Home Ministry Assignment: A Preaching Handbook for Missionaries was written with the specific goal in mind of helping missionaries of the Evangelical Free Church of America International Mission (EFCA IM). The handbook has been distributed electronically to all EFCA IM missionaries and to other missionaries and missions agencies. The handbook has also been printed in book form by the EFCA and is being distributed to furloughing EFCA IM missionaries, as well as to others.
